Gaea Products, a Greek brand with international presence, Celebrity Chef Cat Cora and the Greek America Foundation teamed up to support the Greek youth in this time of high unemployment and crisis. Through the sales of an exquisite Extra Virgin Olive Oil, young Greeks will be able to propose their business ideas and to win the chance of funding their own business.
The process is simple: by visiting www.ReInspireGreece.com
, young Greeks affected by the economic crisis will be able to upload their ideas for an agricultural related business in the form of a business plan. A panel of judges from various areas of the business world will choose the 10 most likely to succeed that will receive the grant of 25.000 Euros. This process is funded through the sale of Cat Cora’s Kitchen by Gaea “Antiparos Agrilia Estate” Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, exclusively for the US market through the online shop of Greek America Foundation.
The product chosen to support this initiative is a unique limited quantity Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the beautiful island of Antiparos. Its great organoleptic attributes and sensory profile not only place it in the super premium category of Olive Oils, but push the boundaries of conventional Extra Virgin Olive Oils to new levels.
The initiative and the sale of this exquisite Extra Virgin Olive Oil has been carefully planned with two major questions / worries in mind;
Given that currently 54% of Greece’s youth are unemployed, WHAT can we do to help?
Given that more and more Greeks are leaving the country in search of a better life abroad, HOW can we help young Greeks stay in touch with the land of their forefathers, their heritage, and their history?
The “Re Inspiring Greece, from the Youth UP” Initiative has been designed to achieve the following two objectives:
Through the sale of this exceptional Extra Virgin Olive Oil, GAEA, the leading Greek company in the specialty food department that produces the product, Greek American Celebrity chef Cat Cora and the Greek America Foundation aim to do their part in helping young Greeks get back on their feet, supporting them in becoming an active part of society, and enabling them to overcome the difficulties that they have found themselves in.
Apart from helping youngsters back home, part of the proceeds will also go tothe Greek America Foundation’s scholarship fund. Via this fund, selected students of Greek origin living in North America will have the chance to experience a semester in Greece, giving them the opportunity to explore life in the country of their ancestors.
The 10 selected business plans will benefit from 3 major “prizes”:
· A seed capital of 25.000 EURO each, from GAEA.
· The option of a low interest loan from GAEA’s partner in this project, Piraeus Bank, for another 25.000 EURO.
· Access to GAEA’s extensive and global Distribution Network of 25 countries around the World for their products, as well as to the extensive knowledge and expertise of the American Farming School of Greece.
